I had the opportunity to work on Endgame as FX Supervisor for Digital Domain. We had a lot of rinse and repeat work as well as a few key one off shots to tackle. To help focus our efforts, we spent a lot of effort early in the project to develop automation of these repeatable FX elements to make them easy to execute across many shots at once.
I had the opportunity to give a talk, Automating FX on Avengers: Endgame, at Effects America 2019 in Montreal in June .

Diving into the Quantum realm was a fun change from the typical visual effects work.
By the time I was envolved on the show the language of the Quantum realm had been established and it was mostly about furthering the story and upping the ante as our heros depart in the midst of a storm to return home.
